Ceramids

Ceramides are lipids that are most commonly found in stratum corneum. They play a key role in the structure of the skin, in its water resistance capacity and barrier functions.

Ceramides are observed to be insufficient in cases of atopical dermatitis, psoriasis, ictiyosis, irritant/allergic contact dermatitis and dry skin.

When formulations with Ceramides are applied topically (meaning surfacewise), the skin can be restructured.

Ceramides, natural glycosyl ceramides, is recommended as a barrier protector for facial and body preparations, anti-ageing and hydrating products, as well as for protecting and repairing lip care.
